Wycombe Wanderers
?
4 - 1
Wimbledon
Maurice Richfield

The selection committee were able to pick the same side as the previous game for the first time, but Fuller was unable to escape military duties and so Fennell dropped into the back two with travelling reserve White called up to make his debut on the right of the half-back line.

The Dons took the game to Wanderers in the first fifteen minutes, but Richfield ballooned over the best chance. The home side gradually settled into the game and McCullum gave them the lead after 25 minutes, running through the defence and giving Mortimer no chance from a few yards out. A mistake from Mortimer gifted Wycombe a second, mis-timing his advance on Avery and only succeeding in turning the ball inside the far post.

Wimbledon's goal was rather fortunate, Richfield closing down an attempted clearance which hit him on the side of his face and rebounded straight into the net at some pace. Richfield needed attention, but was able to carry on. Wycombe were stung into an immediate response and the whole forward line combined to put Gearing in on the left, he beat Fennell and smashed the ball in. This quick reply appeared to demoralise the visitors and only stubborn defending and good goalkeeping kept the score down. Jescocke added the final goal a quarter of an hour before the end, running through the middle and giving Mortimer no chance.
