For the Christmas Eve visit to Chiswick, Doug Munday returned to his usual centre-half position and Charlie Smith took his place in the forward line with Jock Woods dropping out. Corinthian-Casuals had a strong side available, including several Varsity Blues, both Oxford and Cambridge represented.

Playing a short passing game the Dons pressed strongly for long periods of the first half, but they were undone by the Casuals thrusting first time passing and use of their wings. When Doug Munday started to struggle from the effects of a toe abscess the home side took advantage to score twice against the run of play through their centre-forward Abbott. Two rasping drives from Derek Clarke encouraged the Dons, but the teams crossed over with the visitors two goals behind.
Despite their effective one man disadvantage Wimbledon continued their pressure after the interval and Jack Wallis, who constantly rallied his forward line, was able to pull one back after sixty-five minutes, but Abbott soon completed his hat-trick and Doggart added a fourth fifteen minutes from time.
