Clapton
?

Wimbledon had little difficulty in disposing of Clapton in the first round of the London Charity Cup despite being forced to play the Stollers (3rd team) keeper Ernie Hornett, who made his first team debut in place of the injured Jim Haydock. Bird threw himself full length at a Stannard cross to open the scoring in the first half and soon after the change round Ken Lister fired home a free kick from 35 yards out. Jack Wallis notched the third with a low drive and Harry Stannard drew the goalkeeper before calmly lobbing home the fourth. Clapton never gave up and Bateman pulled one back near the end.
