Full Name: Walter Ernest Hawtin Date of Birth: Q4 1876 Place of Birth: Wimbledon Date of Death: 06 March 1916 Ernie Hawtin (1893/94 - 1906/07) The subject of Gillian Hawtin's "An Old Central's Man", known as "Chingy", an all-round sportsman with strong family links to Buckinghamshire. Walter made his debut in January 1893 soon after his 17th birthday and played on and off, sometimes more regularly than others, for over a decade, through the clubs entry into senior football and up to the club's first game as Wimbledon FC in 1905/06. Suffered an awful injury that resulted in several months in hospital and which is believed to have eventually caused his demise. In his early playing career he also took to the field for Vulcan Rovers and in the mid 1890s was captain of Winslow United, Bucks, where it appears he worked. 1893/94: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 1894/95: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 1895/96: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 1896/97: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 1897/98: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 1898/99: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 1899/00: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 1900/01: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 1901/02: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 1902/03: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 1903/04: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 1904/05: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 1905/06: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 1906/07: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 - Total: Appearances: 0 - Substitute: 0 - Goals: 0 |
