Full Name: Terence D Eames Date of Birth: 13 October 1957 Place of Birth: Kennington, London Terry Eames (1976/77 - 1979/80) Signed by Allen Batsford from Crystal Palace during Wimbledon's last Southern League campaign, Terry initially understudied Billy Edwards until the latter departed in the wake of new manager Dario Gradi's arrival in January 1978. He made the left back berth his own as the Dons consolidated their position in Division Four during the second half of the season and appeared twenty times as the club won promotion the next year. After the arrival of Steve Jones his opportunities were limited and he returned to non league football and eventually played for and managed a number of clubs in the south London area. That experience proved crucial when the newly formed AFC Wimbledon needed a manager in the summer of 2002. Starting at hastily arranged trials on Wimbledon Common he assembled a side from scratch that went on to amass no less than 111 points in their debut season in the Combined Counties League. The remarkable form of Withdean 2000 and AFC Wallingford meant the Dons could only finish third that year but they were unstoppable during the 2003-04 campaign, dropping just four points on their way to the title. Eames was not at the helm to celebrate that triumph as he had been suspended on disciplinary grounds in February. His abrupt departure upset many fans and the full truth has yet to be made public. 1977-1980 Wimbledon 47 (1) Dulwich Hamlet ? (?) Leatherhead ? (?) Kingstonian ? (?)
