David Galvin

After almost a decade at Gillingham, experienced defender Dave Galvin was signed by Allen Batsford in the summer of 1977 as the club prepared for their first Football League season. He made his debut against Halifax Town on the opening day of the season and went on to make 40 league appearances at centre back during the campaign. The next year he made 33 more starts as he and Dave Donaldson formed a solid backbone to Dario Gradi's young promotion winning team.
