Born in Glasgow in 1921, Billy came to the Dons in September 1946 having played most of his football in Ireland, turning out for Cliftonville in the Irish League from 1941/46. He won honours playing for Amateur League (N. Ireland) v. Leinster League (Eire). Married and living locally, he was the manager of a London branch of a Northern Ireland food manufacturers. Enjoyed watching cricket in the Summer.
