Full Name: Stephen Paul James Parsons Date of Birth: 07 October 1957 Place of Birth: Hammersmith, London Steve Parsons (1977/78 - 1979/80) A skilful left sided midfielder-cum-winger, Steve Parsons was initially with Walton and Hersham before Allen Batsford signed him in December 1977. He made his debut in the 3-3 draw with Doncaster Rovers and subsequently became one of the younger players around whom Dario Gradi built his successful promotion winning side in 1978-79. His extra time winner at Bournemouth, direct from a corner, saw the club entertaining Southampton in an FA Cup 3rd round clash that year. He netted 19 goals in 94 league games for the Dons before being sold to Leyton Orient for £43,000 in March 1980 but a broken leg ended his professional career just months later. After a spell at Hendon he was reunited with Ray Knowles at Hayes, where he was selected for an FA XI. After a brief sojourn at Wembley he returned to Hayes, only to leave again to play in America in the summer of 1987. He again returned briefly to Hendon, but in October 1987 signed for Leytonstone & Ilford. Walton & Hersham ? (?) 1977-1980 Wimbledon 94 (19) 1980-1981 Orient 36 (6) 1981-1982 Hayes ?
