A Welsh Guardsman who played in the opening game of 1940/41 when the team turned up 3 players short. Three spectators were plucked from the crowd, but only two pairs of boots could be found, so Richards and Grainger stepped in and the Dons played with only ten men. The third Guardsman was Sandy Jones, who had to wait until February 1941 for his chance.
