Graham Roope is better known as a former forcing middle-order right-hand batsman and occasional medium pace bowler for Surrey, who gained 21 caps for England.

Football-wise he was a goalkeeper and he played in the Premier Midweek Floodlight Cup for the Dons in 1966/67, having previously played for Corinthian-Casuals and Ashford Town, before leaving for Hayes in November of that year, initially on loan. He left Hayes under a cloud after having made 61 appearanves, after he told their manager that he was going to play for his old boys team, Bradfieldians, in the Arthur Dunn Cup final rather than in a crucual relegation match against fellow strugglers Hornchurch. He rejoined Wimbledon as cover for Dickie Guy and made a number of appearances in both the Premier Midweek Floodlight League and in the Southern League when Guy was injured in December 1969. With Guy almost ever-present for the next eight seasons and the reserve team disbanded Roope moved on to Guildford City.
