Full Name: William Smith Date of Birth: 29 September 1948 Place of Birth: London, England Willie Smith (1977/78) Willie won 16 England amateur international caps while with Allen Batsford's Walton and Hersham side and subsequent club Leatherhead, where he played against the Dons in the memorable FA Cup tie in December 1976. The following summer he joined Wimbledon, who had just been elected to the Football League, but made only two senior appearances - including the Dons first Football League game - before badly breaking a in a reserve team game.
