Colin, a forward, joined the club as an amateur trialist soon after the start of the 1970/71 season, having previously played for Tonbridge and Gravesend. A school teacher and F.A. qualified coach, he scored twice on his debut in the Premier Midweek Floodlight Cup and signed amateur forms soon after, making a handful of senior appearances at the end of that seaosn.

Manager Mike Everitt considered offering Colin a professional contract, but agreed instead to monitor his progress at the start of the 1971/72 season. Colin had other ideas, though, and joined Southern League newcomers Maidstone United with Stuart Davies.

In 1973 he defied the sporting boycott of South Africa to play alongside Roy Hodgson for Berea Park.

Later managed managed IFK Norrköping in Sweden (1996) and became the technical director of Indian Football (2009).
