Son of former Arsenal player Billy Warnes (whose only first team appearance for The Gunners was in the shock F.A. Cup defeat by Walsall in 1933), left-winger Roger made his debut when just 17 years old, but failed to pin down a regular place in the first team and spent the following season at Tooting & Mitcham.
