Full Name: Walter Henry Waight Date of Birth: 09 August 1893 Place of Birth: Chelsea, London Date of Death: 18 July 1973 Place of Death: Fulham, London Walter Waight (1914/15 - 1918/19) Chelseas born goalkeeper Walter made his debut in a 4-2 London Senior Cup win over Crouch End Vampires in November 1914, but his next known appearance wasn't until the Dons restarted their competitive matches after the War, a 2-0 United Senior League defeat of Catford Southend. Had previously been on the books at Chelsea, and was in their 1912/13 team photos. Also played in 1914 for Tooting and signed as an amateur for Leyton Orient. Played until March of that year after which he was replaced between the sticks by Arthur Taylor. Joined Merton Town where his most notable feat was being fined £2 plus costs in 1924 for punching a referee post match, well reported nationally.
