Born in Harlow, Essex, Jack moved with his family to the butchers at 11 Broadway some time in the 1890s.

An ex-Old Central defender who Was an integral part of the successful Wimbledon Rink Hockey Club that kept a core of old players together during the two season break, introducing Jack Meadows to the "gang" and, along with Johnny Canham and others, played a huge part in restarting the Club after the break.

Became Chairman in the mid-1920s and held that post until his death on arrival in Jersey for the Easter tour in 1951, aged 63.
