Willie Bennett
(1972/73)
A local lad who represented Surrey Schools while at Garth Road school. After playing youth football at Charlton Athletic he was spotted playing for Raynes Park Rovers and joined Wimbledon during the 1972/73 season, impressed in the reserves and Mid-Surrey Professional Floodlit League side, then played a handful of senior games before leaving the following season for Epsom & Ewell.

Played in the 1974/75 F.A. Vase final and spent two months on trial at Millwall at the start of the following season. Was offered a trial at Crystal Palace at the end of that season, but a long term injury meant he was unable to play again until 1977/78. Left Epsom halfway through that season for Chessington.
