Joined the club from Civil Service reserves in October 1921 and after making his debut for the reserves, scoring a hat-trick in a 7-0 win at Tufnell Park (alongside his brother R Perry, also making his debut and scoring 4) he was thrust into the first XI for the following Wednesday's F.A. Cup replay with Redhill (when Jimmy Thompson scored five goals on his debut in a 6-3 win).

The inside-left played in spells until the end of the season after which he and his brother re-joined Civil Service FC where he played for several years.
