In the printing trade, inside-right Vic played for Luton Schoolboys in 1939/40 and in 1945 played for Tottenham Hotspur's juniors.

Did his National Service as a Physical Training Instructor in the Army from 1946-1948 and during that time turned out for Northampton 'A', Fulham 'A' and Southampton reserves.

Joined Wimbledon in 1948/49 and represented the London F.A. and the Isthmian League.
