Central defender David joined Manchester United from school as an apprentice in April 1974 and signed professional forms in January 1975. An England schoolboy interntational, he never made the United first team, although he was well thought of at Old Trafford and outstanding in their Central League reserve team. Dario Gradi signed him for Wimbledon on loan in March 1978 and he made his Football League debut at Aldershot later that month. After six more appearances for the Dons he joined Doncaster Rovers for £10,000 during the summer. A regular at Belle Vue under Billy Bremner he was sold to Bury two years later, but failed to make an impact in a year there and moved on to Northwich Victoria. After a spell at Mossley he emigrated to New Zealand, where he became a successful businessman in Auckland.=== Wikipedia entry ===
