Midfielder Gary came on as a substitute in the pre-season friendly against Hereford United, replacing Roger Connell, in the Dons first season in the Football League, having previously played a handful of games in the Football League for Orient and Aldershot. Also played in Orient's winning Daily Express National 5-a-side winning team in November 1974.
