An "A S Bennett" played in goal for Walton in the Surrey Senior Cup against Dulwich Hamlet, 14 Dec 1912.

An "A Bennett" played in goal for Walton against Wimbledon in the F.A. Cup in October 1919.

AS Bennett joined Wimbledon in December 1919, his first match in the reserves was a 16-0 victory over Guards Depot in the South London Charity Cup. The following weekend he made his debut in the first team, Wimbledon's fifth shot-stopper in seven matches, and thereafter he was the first choice keeper until the club joined the Isthmian League in 1921/22. He played in the Dons first two matches but was displaced and moved back to Walton-On-Thames.

Played for Surrey alongside Keeble, Armitage and Goodchild in October 1920.
