W J Knight
(1918/19 - 1919/20)
Knight first came into senior football with his local club, Chippenham United (later renamed Chippenham Town) at the tender age of 16, playing in the Western League. From there he joined Bristol City, where he helped the then Second Division club's reserves. He then played for Swindon Town's second eleven and Eastleigh Athletics in the Hants Senior League.

On returning to London he joined Kingston Town where he played many fine games. He joined Wimbledon as they reformed after the Great War and was elected captain.

Although at his best in the right-half position, he was a versatile player and during his career played in every position except left-back and goalkeeper. Always a keen player and a good leader he had much to do with the successful revival of the club.
