After a pleasant weekend on the south coast the Dons finished their short Easter tour with a resounding victory against the reserve team of Southern League Hastings United. Their opponents had only been formed in 1948 and controversially took over Hastings & St. Leonard’s ground at Pilot Field. When United were dissolved in 1985 due to financial issues, Hastings & St. Leonard’s (by now known as Hastings Town) moved back in and took United’s place in the Southern League, albeit in the lower Southern Division. In 2002 they changed their name to Hastings United. |
