Adam Murray helped Mansfield leapfrog AFC Wimbledon in the League Two table with victory against the Dons.

The Stags captain lashed in a 30-yard free-kick to give the home side the lead, after Ollie Palmer's attempted clearance put off keeper Ross Worner.

George Francomb had a chance to equalise from Kwesi Appiah's cross but sliced over.

Mansfield's Jamie McGuire then denied the Dons a late equaliser, clearing Alan Bennett's effort off the line.

The Dons were not helped by a 15th-minute change that saw Darren Jones carried off on a stretcher after taking a high boot in the face from Anthony Howell.

The visitors rarely threatened however, with Francomb's sliced shot and Kwesi Appiah's weak half-volley their only chances of note.

The result sees Mansfield, who now lie 12th, achieve back-to-back wins for the first time since September while the Dons drop to 16th, eight points clear of the relegation zone.
