With Parsons again available, captain Bert Bridge returned to his customary centre-back role in place of Webb and Ken Meredith, from Crystal Palace juniors (a younger brother of pre-war Dons player R Meredith), was selected in preference to Brereton for the visit of Youngs Athletic to Plough Lane.

Another easy victory was secured with the Wimbledon defence too strong for the lively Youngs' forwards. Ryan got the first goal after smartly controlling a cross from the left with his head before shooting in and the same player got the second from Taylor's cross three minutes later. James got the third from another Taylor cross and had one incorrectly disallowed for offside after the ball was touched back by a defender. McPherson, the Youngs winger, had to leave the pitch but resumed for the second period.

The visitors put on a spurt after the break, but couldn't break down the Dons half backs, and the home side soon re-asserted their superiority. Two more goals were scored near the end, Ryan completing his hat-trick with a good shot and Meredith finishing off a smart passing move to cap his debut.
