Soon after the re-start Reeves was forced to the dressing room for attention after careering over the barrier, Hamlet taking full advantage of the numerical difference to force a corner from which Jover increased the lead with a header over Mortimer. As Reeves returned Bridge was crocked and forced to switch to the wing, where he played until retiring just before the end. The home side took complete control of the game and only resolute defending from the Dons kept the score in check, but Jover was able to complete his hat-trick when he cut inside and the goal was at his mercy.
