Leytonstone brought the Amateur Cup with them, but the home side literally didn’t turn up, as an entire reserve team was selected. In the end Perkins was a no-show and Nash stepped in, but it was always going to be a struggle for the youngsters on show, and it was no surprise that the home record finally fell. And early goal from Smith, turning Crowe’s centre out of the reach of King, started the scoring and Noble got the second after twenty minutes when Digweed misjudged his pass back to the keeper and Noble nipped in to net. |
