Gill was again cup-tied for the visit of Woking, but Stannard was still on leave and continued at centre-forward. Fuce and Viard were both bed-ridden with 'flu, Richfield and Ugle returning to the forward line in their places.

Despite the reshuffle the Dons' confidence was high, and helped by a strong wind they produced some brilliant attacking play which resulted in three goals in four minutes. Stannard got the first with a solo run from the half-way line, beating five or six challenges before rifling home with his left foot. The same player got the second with a flying kick from a long forward pass and straight from the kick-off Laker took a shot from near the corner flag that the Cards' keeper, West, could only help between the posts. Anticipating the wind in their favour in the second half the visitors were not disheartened and after half an hour Reeves, dangerous throughout, pulled one back after a scramble in the home area. Five minutes later they reduced the arrears further, Moon netting after Haydock was only able to beat Pink's shot out. Wimbledon hit back and West saved from both Laker and Stannard, but was unable to stop Richfield adding a fourth, five minutes before the break, at the second attempt after his original shot was charged down.

The home side were comfortable against the elements in the second-half and could have gone further ahead when Stannard player in Richfield, but he shot straight at the keeper from five yards. The Dons continued to hold firm and sealed victory ten minutes from the end when Stannard completed his hat-trick with a fine header from a Richfield centre.
