Tufnell Park ? 1 - 5 Wimbledon Don Rhodes (2), Jimmy Green, Jimmy Smith, Alf Wallace Played at Cheshunt

Harry Stannard was unavailable for selection for the trip to Cheshunt due to a private engagement and Ron Head was also on the missing list, although originally selected, paving the way for a recall for AW Green at outside-right, flanking AT Wallace, with Jim Smith moving to inside-left. Tufnell Park, though plucky and enthusiastic, were no match for the Dons, who were responsible for the majority of the attacking play in the game. Despite their superiority it took until the 25th minute for Rhodes to open the scoring. It only took a minute further for the second, Wallace scoring from a Green pass, and just before the break Green got the third, running onto a through ball and slipping the ball under the advancing keeper. |
