Jack Fennell and Harry Stannard, on leave, replaced Parsons and Meredith, with Fuce moving to inside right, but an early injury to Fuce hampered the Dons' plans to leave the Spotted Dog ground with any points.

Stannard had the first chance, forcing Robson to concede a corner with a shot on the run after chasing a Lemmer pass, but Clapton were mostly in control and shot on sight. The visitors provided most of the skill on display, but the dash and thrust came from the home side and Mortimer did well to keep the score down. Fuce's injury became a hindrance and he retired for treatment, and the Dons failed to withstand the numerical disadvantage.

Fuce returned after the break but only lasted ten minutes before leaving the field for good, and in the last fifteen minutes Fuller was also crocked and switched places with Prett. Jennings was the forward opportunist for Clapton and scored all three goals.
