Jon Harley got his Wimbledon career off to a super start by scoring twice to help seal an easy victory over struggling Crewe.

The Chelsea player signed for the Dons on loan in mid-week and wasted no time in making an impact when he floated a terrific chip over Crewe `keeper Jason Kearton after 12 minutes.

Marcus Gayle doubled the lead for the visitors after Alan Kimble had beaten Mark Rivers and delivered a superb perfect cross for Gayle to head home after 26 minutes.

Crewe attempted to fight back whenthe ball fell to Kenny Lunt just outside the box, but the midfielder's volley was well held by Kelvin Davies.

Mark Rivers then blasted a shot onto the bar after beating Alan Kimble and Trond Anderson.

Harley put the result beyond all doubt with the third after 56 minutes. The Dons launched a quick counter-attack and Jonathon Hunt's early cross found Harley at the far post for the England Under-21 defender to slide home.

Crewe were still capable of stretching the Dons on the break and Dave Walton's header was spilled by `keeper Davies, but Macauley wasted a great chance with the follow-up.

The Dons blotted their copybook slightly when defender Chris Wilmott was sent off after 75 minutes for a second bookable offence, but by then Terry Burton's men had the match won.

Despite the handicap Jason Euell added a fourth on 80 minutes after a Kearton howler, the `keeper failing to gather a through ball and Euell was left with an easy finish.
