John Hartson paid back another slice of his huge wage packet with his 10th goal of the campaign to help Wimbledon to their sixth away victory of the season.

Hartson's superb 35th-minute strike was cancelled out four minutes later by Welsh international colleague Iwan Roberts - but midfielder Damien Francis popped up with the winner barely a minute into the second half.

Norwich were left to reflect on a penalty miss from Phil Mulryne when the score was 0-0 and a bad injury-time miss from Adrian Coote when the substitute looked certain to make it 2-2.

The Dons started brightly with Hartson and Mark Williams both going close in the opening 15 minutes before Norwich were handed a chance to go ahead against the run of play midway through the half when Darren Holloway brought down Roberts in the area.

But unfortunately for under-pressure manager Bryan Hamilton his fellow Ulsterman Mulryne came up with a woeful effort from the spot which allowed keeper Kelvin Davis to make a comfortable save.
Knock down

Thirteen minutes later the visitors made Norwich pay with Hartson shooting low and hard past Andy Marshall from the edge of the area after latching onto Marcus Gayle's knock down.

The Canaries responded well to that setback and got back on level terms in the 39th minute.

Adrian Forbes' cross from the right found the head of Roberts and the big striker powered home from just inside the six-yard box to level the scores.

The same player had the ball in the back of the net again on the stroke of half time from another Forbes cross - but his effort was ruled out for handball - moments later the Dons moved ahead.

The goal was made by Marcus Gayle, playing on the left flank, who skipped past Malky Mackay before sending a low cross into the danger area which Fernando Derveld could only half clear.
Francis popped up on the edge of the box to curl a delightful right-footed shot past Marshall.

The home side produced a real grandstand finish with Roberts' close-range effort being stopped by the keeper's legs and Coote then volleying over wildly as Holloway's misdirected header fell into his path some 10 yards out.
