Two goals each from David Connolly and Neil Shipperley ensured Manchester City's season continues to be unpredictable.

City improved after the break and Steve Howey missed a great chance to cut the deficit when he headed just wide from Danny Tiatto's cross.

But they could not make the breakthrough, and on 83 minutes Shipperley made sure of the points with a glorious strike from 25 yards out.

Shipperley rubbed salt in the wound in the third minute of stoppage time with another goal, and Keegan's men were booed off the Maine Road pitch.
