The Dons returned to form on Boxing Day in a friendly game with a Fulham XI. The League team included a mixture of professionals and amateurs. Vic Bird made his home debut and Arthur Maggs and Ken Lister returned to the side after injuries, although neither took any risks in a game with no points at stake. Bird got the only goal of the first half, but the second half belonged to Freddie Gauntlett, who gave the Fulham defence little respite and had the satisfaction of scoring all four goals during that period. |
