Isthmian League

Leytonstone

3 (1) - (1) 1
Wimbledon
Jack Wallis (?)

Leytonstone reached an Isthmian League record 43 points after beating the exhausted Dons at Granleigh Road. But had Wimbledon been able to maintain their first half form, when they pinned the champions back in their own half for long spells, they would surely have spoiled the end of season party. Jack Wallis had replied immediately to ex Dons Vic Bird’s first half opener and Stannard and Clarke went close straight after the interval before the prolific ‘Bunny’ Groves settled the issue with two strikes.
