Despite doing most of the attacking and creating numerous chances, the Dons went down to their first league defeat of the season at Ilford. The Newbury Park pitch was in poor condition but that did not excuse the Wimbledon forwards who were guilty of some glaring misses and throwing away two points against a willing, but limited home side.
