Isthmian League

Dulwich Hamlet
?
3 (3) - (0) 1
Wimbledon
Derek Clarke

With the Revd Ron Cowley keeping Harry Stannard in check, Dulwich emerged as worthy winners of a televised Isthmian League clash at Champion Hill. The BBC’s evening highlights programme captured the brilliant fifteen minute Dulwich goal rush mid way through the first half that settled the match. Although the Dons fought back in the second half, all they had to show for their attacking efforts was a debut goal from Derek Clarke. In the final half hour the youngster missed a sitter before hitting the post with a fine drive and Munday hit the bar when his fine shot was turned onto the woodwork by Alec Freeman in the Hamlet goal. It was all to no avail as the result allowed the hosts to leapfrog Wimbledon into third place.
